A note from the Director.
At first glance, you may think the obvious and be inclined to turn the channel to avoid things that we don’t want to see, or hear expletives that we don’t want to hear. It’s the same as turning your head the other way because it’s still there right in your face; you’re just not willing to look or listen. This is the arc of my story.
The film is more than what’s obvious, drugs and alcohol addiction, or sensationalizing the world of ill-repute, i.g.; my main character is a promiscuous female with a bad reputation.
Every day I am confronted by dysfunctional people who attempt to lure me into their convoluted world. It’s not easy to just walk away. We judge, criticize and turn a blind eye to the truth. The truth is that drugs and the alcohol are not the problems, it’s only an inhibitor; the real core of the problem is mental illness, that’s the foundation of where it all starts. Somewhere in the Hidden or Dark regions of the mind, we find the answers.
Drugs, Booze & Woes is a character study. On the cover, we are reminded of people that we know, and we shamefully ignore their problems by denial. We alienate and avoid at all costs to cross paths with these people. We fail to realize that someone is hurting so badly that they are willing to take the road of self-destruction. There lies the distinction of do nothing or be an Angel for someone in need…
Watch the film before judging it, you may be pleasantly surprised of the resolution.
